Escalade-V Carbon Kit vs. Cadillac’s 252-Car Special Edition
Cadillac just put a price on “special.” It is about $65,000 above a standard Escalade-V. That money buys rarity, two colours and carbon in the details. The body stays exactly the same.
LARTE Design takes the opposite route. Its carbon exterior changes the car itself. It fits every Escalade-V, the new Collector Series included. The complete kit costs $49,176.
This article puts the two side by side. You will see what each one buys and where the money goes.
What Cadillac Just Launched
Cadillac introduced the Escalade-V 125th Anniversary Collector Series. Only 252 cars will be built. Prices start at $239,000.
The whole package is built around exclusivity. Here is what it adds:
- Two special colours: Midnight Stone Frost and Vibrant White Tricoat. Each is limited to 126 cars.
- Carbon fibre on the grille surround, mirror caps, engine cover and lower rear insert.
- Forged 24-inch wheels with blue brake calipers.
- A two-tone interior with illuminated sill plates and heritage details.
- A serialised plate with an owner-chosen VIN and serial number.
- Cars labelled by year, from 1902 to 2027.
Nothing changes under the hood. The supercharged V8 still makes 682 hp. The body sides, width and wheel arches also match the standard Escalade-V.
That last point is the key one. The Collector Series is rare. It is not different in shape.
What the Extra $65,000 Really Buys
Compare the Collector Series with a standard Escalade-V. The gap is roughly $65,000. That is the price of the number, not the price of the silhouette.
Your money goes to five things:
- Rarity. Only 252 cars exist.
- Colour. Two shades that nobody else can order.
- Wheels. Forged 24-inch units with blue calipers.
- Interior. Two-tone trim and heritage details.
- Identity. A serialised plate and a personal serial number.
The carbon parts are small. They sit on the grille surround, mirror caps, engine cover and rear insert. They add detail. They do not change how the car stands on the road.
The first Escalade-V arrived in 2023 as a sleeper. Its styling brief was restrained. Early design studies were far bolder. Four years later, Cadillac’s second answer is a numbered limited run. The exclusivity comes from the count.
LARTE Design: A Different Answer
LARTE Design is a German atelier in Erkrath, near Düsseldorf. It has built carbon exteriors for the Escalade-V since the model’s first year. The company’s founder, Alexej Janowski, sums up the idea in one line.
“Cadillac made 252 Escalade-Vs special. We do it for every other V on the road.”
The programme is called ESTHETE. It is sold in three steps and two finishes. You can start with a ready-made package. Then you can add or remove parts in the online configurator. The tool shows the car from every angle. It also produces an itemised PDF quote.
The Three Steps in Visible Carbon
| Step | What is in it | Price |
|---|---|---|
| Light | Front splitter, rear diffuser, door moldings | $13,050 / €10,065 |
| Medium | Grille trim, splitter, DRL kit, arch extensions, door moldings, diffuser, roof spoiler, brake light | $31,726 / €25,037 |
| Full | Every ESTHETE part: Medium plus hood, hood deflector, mirror caps, rear bumper trim, trunk trim, LARTE logos | $49,176 / €38,632 |
ℹ️ Technical Note: All prices are door-to-door to Europe, the USA and the UAE, excluding VAT. Fitting costs about 10% of the kit price.
Medium: The Step That Changes the Silhouette
Medium is the step that changes how the car stands. It does this without touching the hood. Here is how.
- Face. Carbon grille trim and a front splitter reshape the nose.
- Lighting. A DRL kit and a brake light add an LED signature at the front and the rear.
- Side line. Arch extensions and door moldings widen and lengthen the profile. The wheels stay at factory size.
- Tail. A rear diffuser and a roof spoiler finish the back. The factory quad exhaust stays as Cadillac built it.
At $31,726, Medium costs less than half of what the Collector Series adds. Yet it is the step that changes the shape. The Collector Series cannot say that.
Full: The Maximum Kit
Full uses all 15 positions. That means the eight parts of Medium plus the vented carbon hood. It also adds a hood deflector, mirror caps, rear bumper trim, trunk trim and LARTE logos.
In visible carbon, Full costs $49,176. With fitting, the total is about $54,000. Cadillac’s premium is roughly $65,000. So the complete exterior costs less than the special edition’s extra charge.
Gloss Black: The Cheaper Route
The same design is also available in Gloss Black. The shape is identical. The parts are painted instead of left in visible carbon.
| Step | Gloss Black price |
|---|---|
| Light | $7,595 / €5,790 |
| Medium | $21,315 / €16,810 |
| Full | $33,620 / €26,405 |
Medium and Full cost about a third less than in carbon. There is one catch. Grille trim and door moldings exist only in carbon. So Gloss Black packages carry fewer parts. Medium has six parts instead of eight. Full has thirteen instead of fifteen.
Any body colour is available for the painted version. LARTE promises a personal configuration with renders, timeline and pricing within 24 hours.
Fitment, Warranty and What Stays Factory
Every part fits the 2025–2027 Escalade-V and Escalade-V ESV. The Collector Series is included. That means a Collector Series buyer can add the kit on top.
Here is what comes with each part:
- A 36-month warranty.
- German certification.
- Step-by-step installation instructions.
LARTE also says every part mounts to factory points. Nothing is drilled or cut. The 682 hp, the chassis and the electronics stay as Cadillac built them. In LARTE’s words, the car remains a factory Escalade-V, with the kit on top rather than instead.
⚠️ WARNING: Rules on body modifications differ between countries. Check local registration rules and your insurer’s policy before you order.
Side by Side: What Each Option Costs
| Option | Price | What changes |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Escalade-V | Base price | Nothing |
| Collector Series | From $239,000 (about $65,000 above standard) | Colours, wheels, small carbon parts, interior, serial plate |
| LARTE Light (carbon) | $13,050 | Splitter, diffuser, door moldings |
| LARTE Medium (carbon) | $31,726 | New silhouette with LED signature |
| LARTE Full (carbon) | $49,176 (about $54,000 fitted) | Complete carbon exterior |
The two products do not compete. They answer different questions. Cadillac sells the number on the plate. LARTE sells the shape of the car.
A buyer can even combine them. A Collector Series at $239,000 plus the Full kit at $49,176 comes to about $288,000. Add roughly $4,900 for fitting. You get a numbered car with a complete carbon body.
Clay First, Then the File
Every LARTE exterior starts as a full-scale clay model. The 3D file comes later. The Escalade-V shapes were formed by hand. The team walked around them. They judged each line from the height of a child and from the height of a man. Only then did they digitise the result.
Janowski explains why.
“A file will give you precision and a mistake with the same confidence. Clay shows the mistake at once.”
It is an old method. It is also a sensible one on a vehicle this large. A big flat panel hides errors on a screen. In clay, you see them at once.
Who Should Choose What
The choice comes down to what you want to see in the driveway.
- Choose the Collector Series if numbers matter to you. The serial plate, the rare colours and the resale story are the product.
- Choose Medium if you want a different silhouette at a fraction of the price. It changes the face, the sides and the tail.
- Choose Full if you want the complete carbon look. It is the maximum the programme offers.
- Choose Gloss Black if you like the shape but want to save about a third.
- Combine both if the budget allows. The kit fits the Collector Series.
Whatever you pick, think about the long term. A body kit is a visual decision. The 682 hp engine and the chassis stay the same either way.
Scan the Car Before and After
Medium adds a DRL kit and a brake light. That means new lighting at both ends. After any accessory install, it makes sense to check the car’s modules for stored codes.
A bidirectional scan tool such as the THINKCAR THINKSCAN 689BT does this in minutes. Scan once before the install. Scan again after. You will know the car left the workshop clean.
