Great Wall Motor (GWM) is strengthening its “light off-road” portfolio with the official launch of the Haval Dargo Plus PHEV (known in China as the Haval Big Dog Plus). This new long-range version is a direct response to the growing demand for SUVs that balance daily urban efficiency with serious weekend adventure capabilities.
With a starting price of approximately 20,600 € (and limited-time exchange offers dropping it to 19,000 €), the Dargo Plus PHEV offers one of the most competitive price-to-performance ratios in the hybrid SUV segment for 2026.

The most significant update for the 2026 “Plus” variant is the massive leap in energy density and capacity. GWM has replaced the previous battery setup with a larger 33.7 kWh Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) unit.

Under the hood, the Dargo Plus PHEV utilizes GWM’s sophisticated Hi4 (Hybrid Intelligent 4WD) architecture. This system pairs a high-efficiency 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine with a dual-motor setup (one on each axle) and a 2-speed Dedicated Hybrid Transmission (DHT).
