Many car diagnostics users encounter the frustrating issue where Autocom closes instantly right after launch. The software opens for a second, then disappears without any error message, making it unusable.

Main cause

The issue is caused by the missing .NET Framework 3.5. While Windows 10 and 11 already include .NET Framework 4.8, Autocom 2020/2022 specifically requires version 3.5 to run properly.

If this feature is not enabled in Windows, the program cannot start and closes immediately.

Step-by-step fix

  1. Go to Control Panel → Programs and Features → Turn Windows features on or off.

  2. Check .NET Framework 3.5 (includes 2.0 and 3.0).

  3. Click OK and let Windows install the feature.

  4. Restart your computer.

  5. Launch Autocom again → it should now work normally.

Do not disable .NET Framework 4.8, as other applications depend on it. Both versions can coexist without issues.

Conclusion

If Autocom closes instantly, simply enable .NET Framework 3.5 and the problem is solved. A quick and effective solution for Windows users running Autocom 2020/2022.
